While I'm here, thought I'd address the fact I haven't been in touch much lately. I assure you this is not the beginning of the end. This year has been a huge for Boheem – we've been working on some really great projects… it's been both challenging and rewarding but has left me with little time for sharing it all. Can't wait to show you what we've been up to. Stay tuned!

Just wondering if I’m alone in constantly trying to avoid the plural of ‘brief’ in my job to avoid the inevitable visual of granny undies it guarentees to conjure up, every time?

Pantone Color of the Year 2013

I'm not entirely sure that Pantone's Colour of the Year announcements aren't self-fulfilling prophesies. Nor am I all that comfortable really with the makers of my printing swatch book (or at least the descendants of the makers of my swatch book) should be informing me of what colour I should be filling this season's wardrobe with or indeed, which hue my eyelashes should be. In any case, I have to admit this is a fun idea and a nice way to introduce the graphic designers' referencing system to the shiny white tiled floor of David Jones. Buy it online at Sephora.

Should I work for free?

Today I'm wondering if Jessica Hische is actually one person. She's so prolific I'm not sure how she could be. Or perhaps she really truly loves her craft so much that she can't help but come home on a Saturday night and get to work creating more beautiful, timeless typography and amazing illustrations.

Apparently, when she has an extra minute to spare, Jessica creates online joys such as this diagram for us all to have a giggle and do a little self reflection. This one's about whether there are, in fact, circumstances we designers should work for free. Go to the link and ensure to start in the middle. I checked through and as far as I can see, the pro bono work we've just begun for Unicef qualifies...

Top Dog

To the outside world Trevor White (aka 'Trev' as he is affectionately known in the Studio) may look like any other toy dog, but looks can be deceiving. Trevor is a valued member of the Boheem team, and wears many hats in the Studio including; Mascot, Children's Entertainer, Model, and Confidant. But I guess his most important role is that of Manager, 'Person in Charge', Top Dog (unofficially of course), this role is particularly useful when the studio is busy and we need to pawn off those pesky sales calls, then Trev's our go-to man. And while he enjoys taking sales calls, as you can imagine, he is almost always unavailable to speak, usually out of the office on important business trips and the likes. But fear not , if you can't catch Trevor over the phone, you can always get him on email.
